Native Planet founder, Jean-Philippe Soulé, will personally guide this 9-day tour he designed to include all the best the Alps have to offer. It sounds like a lot, but after living 2 years in the Alps where he worked in Mountain rescue for the French Special Forces, J-Philippe recently returned to the Alps and reconned over 5000 miles of small twisty mountain roads to keep only the most spectacular ones. During this tour, he will share his extensive experience, taking you along spectacular mountain roads and through historic medieval villages while sampling local French cuisine along the way. The great chain of the Alps features some of Europe's highest and prettiest mountains, some of them such as Mt Blanc, Grand Paradiso, La Meije, and Les Ecrins make the backgrounds of your daily rides. You will stay in hotels where Lance Armstrong and other famous cyclists have stayed. You will see the names of Tour's favorites covering the smooth asphalt of many climbs. On more remote rides, you will go through National Parks, such as Vanoise, Ecrins and Beaufortain, where you may see marmots and mountain goats (bouquetin). September, the driest month, is neither too hot nor too cold, the crowds are gone, and the golden leaves enhance the spectacular mountain scenery making this the best time of the year for this bicycle adventure.
