Cycling with Native Planet Adventures - FAQ

How can I travel from the West Coast of the US for the tour?

View our special Travel info page for each tour: Pyrenees ; Alps ; Dordogne ; Mt Ventoux

What could I do with more time in France?

  • With 2 or 3 more days, you could visit Paris and Versailles, or visit/cycle the Mediterranean coast and French Riviera.
  • With an extra week, you could do both of the above.
  • With an extra week from Corsica, you could visit Sadinia or Italy.
  • With more time, you could combine two tours. Great combinations are: Dordogne-Pyrenees, Pyrenees-Alps, Alps-Ventoux.

How can I transport my bike from the US?

Most international airlines will accept a bicycle partly disassembled and stored inside a bike case as one piece of luggage for no additional cost but make sure you double-check with your airline. In France, you can travel with your disassembled bike packed in a protective case in any trains including TGVs; some trains will also accept fully assembled bicycles and may have special racks. Upon arrival, our professional mechanic will help you reassemble your bicycle. For ease of transport on our tour, we prefer the soft cases as they take much less space.

If you prefer not to travel with your bicycle, you may want to rent a bike from one of our local partners.
