Prehistoric & Medieval Dordogne:
The Ancient Paintings, Castles and Stone Villages of the Black Périgord!
August 23-30, 2008

For cyclists, each day will include approximately 30 to 40 miles of cycling on the rolling country roads of the Dordogne with opportunities for stronger cyclists to choose longer and/or more strenuous routes (60 miles or more per day). Each day we will stop to visit at least one Must see sight of Dordogne including the famous Lascaux cave with prehistoric paintings, the medieval war castles of Beynnac and Castelnaud, the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat, the spectacular Roufignac cave, the renaissance Chateau des Milandes of Josephine Baker, La Roque St Christophe and much more. Many more visits are possible and the cycling possibilities are endless. This tour can be used as a perfect training for the PoP Pyrenees tour. It's also an ideal family tour where cyclists and non-cyclists can visit the same cultural and historical sites.
